Australian Axemen’s Association Newsletter – October 2018

While 2018 has been a big year for us and with the recent completion of all our royal show there are some congratulation in order.

Firstly our popular ladies Australian team fought back well against strong New Zealand and American teams to take the series win in Adelaide 2018. A great team performance from the ever improving Australian women’s team.

Despite a wardrobe malfunction the ladies had some fun along the way.

Adelaide show needs to be commended for the Teams races that they hold each year. It is a very well-run show and we thank the show committee for their efforts.

All these races were well contested by the teams

A proud New Zealand crew

Passionate hands on hearts Americans gave both Australia and New Zealand notice that they were here to win taking out the second race.

Then Under 21 National side was also victorious in Adelaide against a young and improving New Zealand side.

Our juniors all performed at their best to take the series win in Adelaide 2018.

While these guys had some fun there was some seriousness about getting the job done.

Contemplating the task ahead

Team meeting with Manager Mitchell Argent. He has shown the juniors a winning way.

The Australian open team has completed the hat trick for or National teams winning the Trans-Tasman test series in Brisbane this year. The team pulled together well to take the win 3-0.

A great team performance

Thank you to all that helped bring all our national teams together to give them the opportunity to compete at the highest level possible in 2018. Without the efforts of the shows and the committee’s that put in valuable hours these events would not be possible.

THANK YOU

The Organisers and committee at the Brisbane show “THE EKKA” also need a special mention for the work that has been done this past 12 months for our great sport and it has set a new standard for the sport of wood chopping, the indoor arena that was presented the axe men and women in 2018 was nothing short of amazing.

“THE EKKA” and the team in Brisbane are working hard to ensure that 2019 is bigger and better again. From our sport we thank you very much.

The Australian Axemen’s Association would like to congratulate all the winners of World, National and State title through 2018. It’s been a big year for our sport and we hope that 2019 brings you all the success you strive for.
